Family Update 4/20/05

Praying Friends,

KRIS is settling in real well to her position as a mentor to native studednts at Alaska Christian College. She is absolutely loved on campus, and I am confident that she is making a big difference in the lives of these girls. Our updates seem to have less ministry information now a days. Part of it is due to the confidence she must maintain and also because I am not doing a good job of getting HER to share with you!

TYLER - As you know, Tyler has been back in Alaska since Christmas, and recently got a job as a prep cook on an oil platform in the Cook Inlet, one week on one week off. He really is trying to put his life back together in many ways, and it is a joy to have him around. Thank you for your prayers.

CHELSIE os preparing for gradualtion. At this point, she is thinking about taking a year off and the pursuing her college education. She is a coach for 4/5 yr. Boys & Girls soccer, a captain of Kenai High School's girls's soccer team, and she works at a locall coffee barn in her free time. We are proud of her, and the way she has made faith in Christ and a walk with the Lord a personal chice of life.

CASSIE has settled down somewhat, as far as the medication problems are concerned. That's a real relief for all of us. As it stands now, she will be admitted for 7 days at Seattles Childrens Hospital in Seattle in JULY. We are trying to move the date up some, but it's not too bad a situation as long as she has settled in regards to medication. She was able to sign in our worksip service on Sunday, and many people came up to her and said how they have missed her and are praying for her.

The purpose of the hospital stay will be for the doctors who would be performing surgery to evaluate her situation personally. Needlesstosay, we are all just praying that things will be resolved as soon as possible.

Arctic Barnabas Ministries is still very much on our hearts and we are maintaining contact with families in the bush as much as possible. But it is also obvious to everyone that we are also occupied with family matters, and we praise the Lord for those whom we have ministered to who are ministering to us in their prayers.

Me - As it stands now, I will not go with Kris and Cassie to Seattle in July, but I will be there when and if the surgery is scheduled. In both cases, Kris and Cassie's trasnsportation is cared for, and mine would not be. And Kris can take vacation days (some vacation, huh?) while I cannot.

I am still driving for the area trasportation system, and I have opprotunies every day to share my faith. I meet alot of natives on the Kenai Peninsula this way to, and I pray for opportunities to build friendhips and share the Good News. I am also doing some computer work. Pray that I can do more computer work and, as a result, less driving. That way I have more control over my schedule and can be around campus more. I only need to bill out 10-15 hours a week, and I want to donate an equivilant amount to ministries in the area. So far I have been able to donate time to ABM and several partner ministries here on the kenai Peninsula. I am even doing some remote assistance for some, helping them with computer applications by connecting to their computers remotely. I have also been able to bill out some time doing this as well.

I know we have probably said this before, but we would just love for any of you to consider Alaska on your next vacation and visiting us while here. Our home is open!

THERE or in the air!
